Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world again

After more than two years, Amazon founder Bezos is once again the richest person in the world.

In 2021, Tesla entrepreneur Elon Musk replaced Jeff Bezos as the richest person in the world. Now Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has taken the title back. His fortune is estimated at $200 billion (184 billion euros), as reported by Business Insider.

AI boom causes stocks to rise

The rise of artificial intelligence in particular has caused Big Tech stocks to soar. Amazon shares are up 17 percent this year and are almost 90 percent higher than a year ago. The price per share is currently $177.58 each. As these stocks rise, so does Bezos’ net worth, as he owns about nine percent of Amazon.

In 2017, Jeff Bezos’s fortune overtook Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and from then on he was the richest person in the world until 2021, when he was replaced by Elon Musk in 2021. However, Tesla shares fell by 24 percent over the course of the year, allowing Bezos to overtake Musk. Elon Musk’s net worth is estimated at 198 billion (182 billion euros). The third richest person is currently Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH Moet Hennessy Loius Vuitton, with 197 US dollars (181 billion euros).
